Your goal will be to extract a measure of the stiffness of one particular spring. Hook’s Law states that the extension of the spring is directly proportion with the applied load within the elastic limit of body.

The apparatus consists of a helical spring which is hanging along a scale that is fitted on a metallic rod. The other end of the spring is free. A hanger and pointer are attached to its free end.
